Chapter - 3

Raghuvir slowly reached for the baby, taking him into his arms with the utmost care.

His hands were almost trembling as he adjusted the tiny bundle against his chest, as though he were holding the most precious thing in the entire world.

He looked down at his little son for a moment, his eyes filling with tears and a soft smile appearing on his face.

Then, very carefully, Raghuvir turned and walked toward Savitri.

He came closer to the bed and gently held the baby out so she could see him.

"Dekho, Savitri..."

Savitri smiled weakly as she looked at their little son.

"Ji... aap pe hi gaya hai."

Raghuvir looked at her, pretending to be offended.

"Dhatt, pagli! Hamra beta hai... kuch-kuch tere jaisa bhi toh hoga."

Savitri gave him a weak but teasing smile.

"Achha ji... ab kuch-kuch hoga mere jaisa? D-dekho... maine na poore nau mahine rakha hai..."

Raghuvir couldn't help but smile at her teasing even in her tired state.

Raghuvir's smile slowly faded. He looked at Savitri, his eyes filling with tears as he gently shook his head.

"Yahi kaafi hai mujhe... ab aur nahi chahiye..."

He swallowed hard, his voice trembling.

"M-main nahi dekh sakta tujhe aise."

Savitri smiled weakly, her eyes still resting on their little son.

"Par... mujhe toh abhi ak beti chahiye."

Raghuvir immediately shook his head, his eyes growing even more teary.

"Nahi, nahi... main nahi dekh sakta. Mujhe nahi chahiye, Savitri."

He looked at her, his voice trembling.

"Dekh... main beti ke liye mana nahi kar raha, par..."

He paused, unable to hide the emotion in his voice.

"Tu... tujhe or aese nahi dekh sakta -- mujhse. Nahi...h-hoga... yahi kaafi hai."

Savitri gently touched his hand, giving him a weak but reassuring smile.

"Jyada mat sochiye ji... abhi toh puri umar padi hai..."

Then, despite her exhaustion, a teasing glint appeared in her eyes.

"Haan... matlab hai. Par aisa thodi na hai ki budhape mein chahiye."

Raghuvir's ears turned red at her teasing. He looked away for a moment, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Tu bhi na... kabhi-kabhi mujhe bhi peeche chhod deti hai."

Savitri giggled weakly, still teasing him despite her exhaustion.

"Nahi... agar budhape mein karenge toh log kya bolenge?"

She paused, trying to hold back another giggle.

"Ki dekho... budhape mein jawani aayi hai."

Raghuvir's face turned even redder. He shook his head, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Kaise-kaise baatein karne lagi hai tu..."

Savitri gave him a weak, teasing smile, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Kyun... aap karte the tab samajh nahi aata tha?"

She paused, giving him a knowing look.

"Ab dekho... main bhi bolti thi na ki log kya bolenge."

She giggled softly.

"Toh kya bola tha...?"

Raghuvir immediately shook his head, trying to look innocent.

"Maine kuch nahi bola tha."

Savitri gave him a knowing look.

"Bola nahi... hasa tha."

Raghuvir blushed, looking away with an embarrassed little smile.

"Achha, achha... maaf kar de."

Savitri smiled softly.

"Ji... jao...maaf kiya"

Raghuvir smiled at her, then leaned down and gently kissed her forehead. He carefully brushed the loose strands of hair away from her face.

"Aram kar... aur main munne ko idhar hi tere bagal mein rakh raha hoon. Tere paas rahega toh tujhe achha lagega."

He carefully settled the baby beside her.

Savitri looked up at him.

"Aap kahaan ja rahe ho?"

Raghuvir smiled.

"Kahin nahi, pagli... yahin hoon."

He glanced toward the door.

"Bahar jaake Aama ko bhejta hoon. Aur... Pandit ji ko bhi toh bulana hoga."

His smile grew wider, unable to contain his happiness.

"Bhai, poora gaon jaanega ki mujhe beta hua hai!"

Raghuvir made a disappointed face.

"Arey... Aama toh mana kar degi."

Savitri smiled knowingly, clearly enjoying his situation.

"Haan... mana kar degi. Mujhe bhi pata hai."

Raghuvir narrowed his eyes at her, pretending to be annoyed.

"Dekh, dekh... tu bahut khush ho rahi hai is baat pe!"

Savitri smiled, glancing lovingly at the little baby beside her.

"Kyun na hoon...? Arey, koi mere laal ko nazar laga dega toh..."

Just then, Aama entered the room, her face lighting up with excitement.

"Arey, .... mujhe bhi dekhne do mere pote ko!"

Savitri smiled weakly.

"Aama... yahi toh hai."

Aama happily stepped closer and looked at the baby, her face filling with affection.

"Arey... ye toh bilkul apne baap pe gaya hai!"

She playfully hit Raghuvir on the shoulder.

Raghuvir winced dramatically.

"Aah-Amma! Ye kya tha?"

Aama immediately shushed him, then looked lovingly at the baby.

"Chup... bas! Ismein meri bahu ke bhi thode gun ho, Kanhaji."

Raghuvir immediately straightened up, looking at Aama with an innocent, slightly offended expression.

"Kyoon, Aama? Mere kyun nahi? Main kya bura hoon?"

Aama rolled her eyes, trying not to smile.

"Arey, tu toh pehle se hi bahut bolta hai. Ab apne bete ko bhi apne jaisa banaayega kya?"

Raghuvir looked at his little son and then back at Aama.

"Achha... toh ismein mera kuch bhi nahi hoga?"

Savitri let out a soft giggle from the bed.

"Bilkul hoga..."

Raghuvir immediately looked at her, hopeful.

"Dekha, Savitri meri taraf hai!"

Savitri smiled weakly.

"Haan... shaitani mein.. aapke jese hoga..."

Aama chuckled softly, looking between Raghuvir and Savitri.

"Achha, bas karo tum dono. Bahu tu abhi thaki hai, aur tum dono ko apni nok-jhok ki padi hai."

Raghuvir smiled sheepishly.

"Arey Aama..."

Aama carefully looked down at the little baby in Savitri's arms, her eyes becoming soft.

"Kitna pyara hai... bilkul nanha sa."

Savitri looked at her son with tired but happy eyes.

"Hamra beta..."

Raghuvir smiled proudly.

"Haan... hamra beta."
